How Can I Help?

There are many ways to help the Dallas Ecological Foundation in its quest to educate the next generation.

Charitable Contributions:

Monetary Contributions: Your monetary gift is always welcome. The Dallas Ecological Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation offering beneficial tax advantages to donors.

So your gift can help the foundation achieve its goals of conservation and education while providing potential tax benefits to you.

Land and Other Assets: The Dallas Ecological Foundation welcomes the donation of land and other real assets.(Please consult your tax Professional for advice on valuation and deductibility.)

Planned Giving: Your planned or future gift integrates your generosity with your overall financial, tax, and estate planning goals to maximize benefits to both you and the Dallas Ecological Foundation, helping to ensure that the foundation’s mission is fulfilled for years to come.

Wildlife Heritage Society - Gifting - 1 Million & Counting

The DEF established the WHS in 2008 as a Planned Giving and Endowment Program to help interested individuals who wish to leave a lasting legacy by including the Dallas Ecological Foundation and its mission in their estate plans. Planned giving is an opportunity to make a significant difference while still alive.

Jerry Mumfrey is a Charter Member of the WHS through his estate plan as a bequest.

Why I Give... as an organization, the Dallas Ecological Foundation provides lasting opportunities for Youth to become involved in outdoor and hunting activities.

I feel this education is critical if we are to continue our hunting heritage for generations to come. Join me as we set the groundwork for our Youth through outdoor education.

Katie & Paul Streif are Charter Member os the WHS with a gift of Real Estate.

Why We Give... we have been involved with the Dallas Ecological Foundation for many years.

The great things the foundation accomplishes are endless.

We are proud to be part of the "future" and the generations that follow.

Steve and Yvonne Miller - supporters of DEF Wildlife Heritage Society Endowment.

Why We Give... Yvonne and I recognize that the DEF Outdoor Adventures program is the only public education curriculum teaching our youth that successful wildlife conservation includes hunting, especially now that wild habitat is rapidly decreasing.

The DEF Wildlife Heritage Society endowment helps fund this essential endeavor and we are proud to be
a part of it.

Dr. Don Senter and Val Senter supporters of DEF's Outdoor Adventures

Why We Give... having worked with many youth hunter education programs since the early 80’s, my support now goes to DEF’s Outdoor Adventures.

Can you imagine a Public School Program that teaches Hunter Safety Certification, the American Model of Wildlife Conservation, and does it mostly at the States expense. A whole semester of DEF’s Outdoor Adventures has a cost per student about the same as a Saturday field event. Hopefully others will see the value of this program and help promote my goal of 10,000 schools in the next 10 years.

Education of the future voters of our country in the value of Hunting as a Conservation Tool can insure our Hunting Heritage. Many will become hunters as well.

Carter Smith - TPWD acknowledges DEF and endowment fund - Wildlife Heritage Society Charter Members.

Guardians of Our Legacy – Annual Giving

The DEF’s Guardians of our Legacy program welcomes those individuals who wish to support the DEF’s conservation programs and education activities through purely philanthropic gifts. It is only through these gifts that the DEF can further its mission of youth education, wildlife and habitat conservation as well the support of other charitable, educational and governmental organizations with similar goals. Each year during the Dallas Safari Club’s annual convention, a matching funds campaign drive provides added funding to support the DEF mission.

501 (c)(3)

Dallas Ecological Foundation is a qualified 501 (c)(3) charitable organization under IRS regulations and does not provide legal, tax, accounting or financial advice or services. All non-monetary gifts must be approved by the DEF Board of Trustees. The Board has ultimate responsibility of acknowledging all gifts made to the Foundation. The Board is also responsible for compliance with the current IRS requirements in acknowledgment of such gifts. IRS Publication 561 covers determining the value of donated property and IRS Publication 526 covers charitable contributions. These techniques and strategies are the DEFs understanding of legal and tax related issues but is not a recommendation of this or other planned giving strategies. Please consult your own legal and tax advisors for their guidance regarding planned giving strategies to your specific personal specific circumstance.
